Warwick Wilshier
Warwick has been in the road freight transport industry since he left school. He completed an Automotive Diesel Apprenticeship and then purchased his first logging truck. He has spent 40 years in the industry and in that time has built a large logging fleet across the central North Island and East Coast regions. He first joined the Rotorua Licenced Carriers Association which later amalgamated into Road Transport Association Region 2. Committed to building safety practice and improving outcomes, Warwick is a founding member of the successful Log Transport Safety Council and has been chair for more than 20 years. In 2020, Warwick was inducted into the New Zealand Road Transport Hall of Fame in recognition of outstanding service to the industry.
Greg Pert
Greg is the managing director and owner of Tauranga-based Tranzliquid, a leading provider of bulk petroleum logistics - primarily fuel, liquid asphalts, and specialised container cartage services throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. As well as being a board member at Transporting New Zealand, Greg is an advisory member of the Petroleum Industry Transport Safety Forum. He began in the industry more than 37 years ago as an owner operator, starting his career with Freightways Bulk Services. He is also a member of the Western BOP Infrastructure Forum and is a past NRC member from 1996 to 2022.
Brett Hamilton
Brett has been in the transport industry for 21 years – his entire working career. HIs first decade was spent as a qualified diesel technician, however Brett had ambitions to operate a heavy transport fleet. In 2011, Brett joined Open Country Dairy as an owner driver operating a modern milk collection tanker, from there he has grown his own fleet at the same time managing Southern milk transport for Open Country. Currently, Brett is managing director of BLH Holdings Ltd, general manager southern milk transport, and Talley’s group fleet manager. "I thoroughly enjoy my time in the transport world, is consists of a fantastic bunch of people doing an essential service for New Zealand communities."
Cam Bagrie (Chair)
Cam is the managing director of independent research company Bagrie Economics. He is the former chief economist at ANZ and has held positions at National Bank, Treasury, and Statistics New Zealand. He is currently an independent chair of the governance committee of the NZ Apple and Pear Inc and a board member of Life Education Trust. He says his approach to getting things done is based on reality over ideology.
Scott Johnstone
Scott is the general manager of Brenics Ltd, a family-owned transport business specialising in food-grade linehaul road transport and storage solutions. After pursuing a career in agriculture, he switched to the family business during university. Scott holds qualifications in agriculture, business management, global supply chain, and governance. Passionate about technology, end-to-end supply chain management, and strategic planning, he brings a valuable skill set to the board, driving innovative and effective solutions for New Zealand’s transport and logistics sector.
