Purpose
NZTA has requested we share the following information in regard to issues which may impact the time it takes for operators to receive heavy vehicle permits.
Changes and impacts
1: NZTA will shortly begin a new email campaign to collect aged debt from permit applications. Recipients will be asked to make payment immediately or to make with contact its debt team collections@nzta.govt.nz or 0800 164 208 (8am – 5pm). Outstanding invoices are sent out on monthly statements and could impact operators receiving future permits.
2: Two key members of the NZTA Permitting Assessments team have changed roles.
Riccardo Areosa takes over the role of Manager – Permitting Assessments, and Yvette Lusby takes over the role of Case Manager – Permitting Assessments. Both these people have been in other roles for the last two years, and there will be a transition period while they find their feet and rhythm. Additionally, the team are transitioning to a new communication management tool, which may impact service delivery in the short term. NZTA would appreciate operators being patient as it implements these changes.
Transporting New Zealand will discuss with NZTA its learnings about transitioning changes. In the meantime, we recommend operators allow additional lead time for permits.
